RELAX AND ENJOY
The Hawkins Arms is the only pub in the village of Probus, located midway between Turo and St Austell. Its famous for having the tallest church tower in Cornwall. The tower is 129 feet (39 m) high.
The Hawkins’s décor is sympathetic to its setting, retaining handsome original features and pairing these with a modern light feel that ensures you feel at home from the moment you arrive.
The aim is to bring the traditional and new together, creating an unpretentious atmosphere where you can meet old friends or make new; not forgetting our four-legged friends who will always be welcomed with a bowl of fresh water and a treat.
Peter, Anne-Marie and the team look forward to welcoming you to their pub and hope that you enjoy the traditional seasonal fares that are on offer.

This may seem like a daunting experience, but rest assured that the, ambience, team and indeed you the customer are still as amazing as ever and we really hope you will join us for a great visit. These are new times and strange times, but we are all in this together.
👨👩👧👦 OUR STAFF
Our staffing levels will be reduced so please be patient during our busy times. Our staff also take this very seriously and only wish to return to work if we are taking care.
They have been trained in the understanding of this virus and know not to attend work if they have any of the symptoms reported by the government.
They will wear PPE where necessary and will have temp checks before every shift. They have been advised if they use public transport, they will be required to change into work clothes when they arrive minimising bringing anything in from the outside world. This is about making everyone safe.
These are like the new bra:
😷 They are uncomfortable
😷 You only wear them in public
😷 When you don't wear one, everyone notices!
Are they for you? New government guidelines you are required by law to wear whilst you are indoors until you are seated at your table.
We ask that your children are sat with you at all times and are accompanied to the toilets with an adult.
Dogs are more than welcome, please always keep them on a lead. Please ensure that you clean up after them.
Please observe the one in one out rule. If you need assistance in this for any reason, please ask a member of staff.
🖐 HAND WASHING
There will be sanitizers throughout the garden including the entrance/exit. We have plenty for everyone for the foreseeable so please do not be shy and use it at every available opportunity.
↔️ SOCIAL DISTANCING
We ask that you all observe the rules around this. Please respect each other’s space and be polite to each other.
You may want to bring your own blankets as we have had to put ours away for now.
🔍 TRACK AND TRACE
We absolutely promise this is a legal obligation!
