WELCOME

RELAX AND ENJOY

The Hawkins Arms is a local village inn with great real ales from St Austell Brewery and good pub food. Located midway between Turo and St Austell  Its famous for having the tallest church tower in Cornwall. The tower is 129 feet (39 m) high.

The Hawkins’s décor is sympathetic to its setting, retaining handsome original features and pairing these with a modern light feel that ensures you feel at home from the moment you arrive.

The aim is to bring the traditional and new together, creating an unpretentious atmosphere where you can meet old friends or make new; not forgetting our four-legged friends who will always be welcomed with a bowl of fresh water and a treat.

Peter, Anne-Marie  and the team look forward to welcoming you.

"Great Roast!  Came here for a roast on an off chance and it was brilliant.  I had the turkey with stuffing and my partner the pork and we were both blown away.  The portion size was great, especially for the reasonable price.  We had a young waitress who was lovely too!  Highly recommended and we will be back!"

RE OPENING DURING CORONA - 19

The Hawkins Arms are pleased to open once again inside and out.  We are really looking forward to inviting all our customers back both old and new, but of course things will feel and look a little different when we open. So please bear with us as we implement the new government guidelines to make sure we are doing all we can to keep all of our customers and staff safe. This will be a learning curve for all of us so we appreciate your support, patience and understanding as we adapt to this new normal.

The car park is now open and will be closed only on event days.

Booking is always advisable, please do this through the Hawkins Arms  Facebook page via message, via phone on 01726 882208 or by email hello@hawkinsarmsprobus.com .

We ask that you refrain from moving any tables. If something is not right, please let us know and we will sort it for you.

SOME FINER DETAILS…..(For the time being we have reduced opening hours, we will be reviewing this on a regular basis)

⚠️ OUR APPROACH

This may seem like a daunting experience, but rest assured that the, ambiance, team and indeed you the customer are still as amazing as ever and we really hope you will join us for a great visit. These are new times and strange times, but we are all in this together.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 OUR STAFF

Our staffing levels will be reduced so please be patient during our busy times.  Our staff also take this very seriously and only wish to return to work if we are taking care.

They have been trained in the understanding of this virus and know not to attend work if they have any of the symptoms reported by the government.

They will wear PPE where necessary and will have temp checks before every shift.  They have been advised if they use public transport, they  will be required to change into work clothes when they arrive minimising bringing anything in from the outside world. This is about making everyone safe.

🦹‍♀️ FACEMASKS

These are like the new bra:

😷 They are uncomfortable
😷 You only wear them in public
😷 When you don't wear one, everyone notices!

🐶 DOGS

Dogs are more than welcome, please always keep them on a lead. Please ensure that you clean up after them.

🖐 HAND WASHING

There will be sanitizers throughout the garden including the entrance/exit. We have plenty for everyone for the foreseeable so please do not be shy and use it at every available opportunity.

↔️ SOCIAL DISTANCING

We ask that you all observe the rules around this. Please respect each other’s space and be polite to each other.

❤️ LASTLY

If we can make you feel better with any other measure or you would like to raise a point please just talk to us. We are all doing this for the first time and these are new ways for everyone. We thank you in advance and really hope you will drop in as we have missed you. We hope to see you soon.

Peter & Anne-Marie
